About

About The Project
We have to remember that the World is Beautiful. Although the media is showing us images of great devastation and destruction, we have to remember that beauty and wonder is within every corner of the world.

The fortitude of the victims of the Tohoku Earthquake and Tsunami has touched the hearts of many. We are a group of Singaporeans on a project to create a legacy that bears testament to the beauty of the Tohoku regions.

Our project aims to collate 99 photos of Miyagi, Iwate, Fukushima, Tochigi and Ibaraki Prefectures – photos that capture the beauty and wonder of the prefectures, their cultures, sceneries and people. The photos will be collated through an international online campaign from anyone who has experienced their beauty and wonder. The final 99 selected photos, accompanied with personal messages and captions, will be compiled and printed into a hardcover coffeetable book titled “With Love to Japan” or "99の絆"  in Japanese.

Copies of the book will be given to all of our contributors, the 191 Japan Embassies and Consular Offices, 47 administrative Japanese prefectures, 14 Japan National Tourist Organization offices and other Japan organizations and institutions around the world. Beyond the painful memories of the tragedy, it is our desire for people to remember the Prefectures’ beauty and encapsulate those moments in the book.

Together, we can turn the World into a more beautiful place.
